Olds 1 Women and CUC Men Win ACAL Basketball Championship

A thrilling weekend of basketball took place this past weekend at the ACAL Championships at Olds College. Rowdy crowds, intensely close games, and nail-biter finishes provided for some great entertainment. All teams participating can be proud of their great efforts both this weekend and throughout the 2011-2012 ACAL Season. This year, the Olds 1 Women finished their perfect season (15-0) with an ACAL Gold Medal, while the CUC Men defended their title to win the ACAL Championship for the third straight year. Honorable mention goes to Nicole Vlieg of Ambrose (20.8 points/game) and Brin Taylor of Center High (18.0 points/game) who were both the leading scorers in their respective Women's and Men's divisions for the regular season. These are impressive statistics and congratulations goes to them both!
